Aging-religion-spirituality guide
CARS sponsors the Gerontological Pastoral Care Institute (GPCI). This two year program is designed to provide chaplins, pastors and laity a certificate for ministering to older adults. In addition to attending two summer sessions of classroom instruction, students are required to conduct a supervised project in their home communities between sessions. Upon completion of the two sessions and project, each student is presented a certificate issued jointly by the Association of Professional Chaplains, the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging, the National Association of Catholic Chaplains and CARS. |
