Incorporated in 1993, and housed at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota, the Center is an independent graduate level institution with an  interfaith and multi-disciplinary approach to issues related to aging, religion and spirituality.

Our Mission

The Center for Aging, Religion and Spirituality (C.A.R.S.) has three goals:

1. Education of religious leaders about aging.
2. Research into religion, spirituality and aging issues.
3. Publication of quality research for scholarly and general reading.
